Disk space is the amount of space allotted to your web hosting account. This space is used to store your html files, graphics, audio/video files, e-mails, database and any other files that may make up your web site. With WebHostingLite you benefit from having 1000 MB of disk space with our Economy plan - enough space to publish any type of web site.

However, if your site will have many multimedia files or other heavy-duty content, consider using our Business plan. It gives you 50 000 MB of disk space and the freedom to grow without having to worry about space constraints.

Our Economy plan comes with 20 GB (gigabytes) monthly traffic free-of-charge. Sites that go over their bandwidth limit are charged S$15 per each additionally generated GB. If you need more bandwidth, consider our Business plan: its 500 GB/mth traffic allowance should meet the requirements of almost any site. The charge for additional bandwidth with the Business plan is S$3 per each additionally generated GB on our servers.

With WebHostingLite, you can have an unlimited number of e-mail accounts with each domain name you host with us. The mailing system we operate allows you to configure custom auto-responders for each mail account as well as automatic forwarding to one or more e-mail addresses. Also, our mail servers allow you to manage each mail account via POP3 or IMAP locally from your machine.

Our servers are specially designed for our hosting environment. Built with the most reliable server components, they are with 2x Quad-core Xeon processors, 8 GB RAM and RAID 6 disk arrays. Subdomains are individual Web addresses built upon a pre-existing domain name, e.g. sub.example.com. For example, if you wish to have a separate web site for your sales department, you could create a subdomain called sales.example.com. This way the URL of your sales web site will look more professional and thus add to the total competence of your web presence. 

With WebHostingLite you can have as many subdomains as you need. We offer up to 15 subdomains as part of our Economy hosting plan and 150 for our Business plan. If you need more, there is a small one-time fee of S$12 per additional subdomain for the Economy plan or S$8 for the Business plan.

We offer MySQL support with all our packages. Ten MySQL databases are included with our Economy plan, and 100 with our Business plan. You can manage your MySQL databases through the online phpMyAdmin Database Manager, found in the Control Panel. You can also enable remote access for your MySQL users through the Control Panel.

Our in-house developed online Control Panel allows you to manage every feature of your hosting account. Following are some (not all) of the options available to you:

You may use your favourite FTP program to upload and download files anytime from anywhere. You can also set an FTP account for each subdomain you have.

Instead of baffling around with complex and expensive site building programs, you can create your site quickly, using the site builder tool that we offer. The site builder is a unique, in-house developed software, available to our hosting customers only. It contains a list of predefined site templates. You start by choosing a template, then you create the navigation of your site, and in the end, you edit the pages of the template to add your own text and media. Also, you can add dynamic content to your pages, by using a number of widgets available in the site builder. Thus you can build your site without any knowledge of HTML or web development technologies.

Your mailbox has its own address book, basic and advanced e-mail filters, as well as multi-language e-mail support. You can view, compose, forward, save, and edit your messages, as well as set privacy options, and customize most other features.

Spam is a nuisance for all of us, and for some it causes serious and costly disruptions to their Web enterprises. At WebHostingLite, we are not sitting around letting the spammers call the shots. 

Your first line of attack are our mail filters, which selectively bounce messages, based on the content of an e-mail’s headers. For more power, use SpamAssassin to scan your incoming mail and determine the probability of a mail message being spam. Enabling SpamAssassin globally makes it process any message sent to your domain, while enabling it per-user will make it scan only the messages destined for a particular mailbox.

E-mail transmitted worms and viruses have recently become quite a problem not only for users around the world, but for Internet Service Providers as well. Here at WebHostingLite, we employ a simple but very powerful anti-virus solution. When enabled, the anti-virus software will scan all incoming messages. In case viruses are found, the server will not deliver the infected messages to the user's mailbox. Please note that the anti-virus software is disabled by default, and can be enabled from the Mail Manager in the online Control Panel.

POP3:
POP3 is a protocol for retrieving e-mail messages. All e-mail clients (Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, Thunderbird, etc.) support the POP3 protocol and can use such mail programs to check your mail on our servers. We support POP3 over SSL as well, which means that you can retrieve your mails from the server securely.

IMAP:
Our IMAP server will permit your "client" e-mail program (e.g. Eudora, Outlook) to access remote messages stored as if they were local. For example, e-mail stored on an IMAP server can be accessed from a desktop computer at home, a workstation at the office, and a notebook computer while traveling, without the need to transfer messages or files back and forth between these computers.

SMTP:
Our SMTP servers allow you to send e-mail from you@yourdomain.com. Our servers accept messages via SMTP on ports 25 and 587. As port 25 is blocked by many Internet service providers, you can always switch your mail program to use port 587 instead.

We support SSL for all mail protocols (POP3, IMAP, and SMTP). This allows you to check and send emails securely over encrypted channels.
